Steps

1. Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Brown the beef pieces and sausage for 2–3 minutes. 2. Add carrot, leek, cabbage, and potato. Stir for 2 more minutes. 3. Pour in the broth or water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. 4. Cover and simmer for 35 minutes, until the meat is tender. 5. Add the cooked chickpeas and simmer 5 more minutes. 6. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve hot in a deep bowl.
