Honey Pistachio Baklava

A luscious dessert featuring layers of crisp, flaky phyllo pastry filled with chopped pistachios and drenched in a fragrant honey-spice syrup, baked to golden perfection for a sweet, crunchy treat.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). 2. Brush a small baking dish with melted butter. 3. Layer two sheets of phyllo in the dish, brushing each with butter. 4. Sprinkle half the chopped pistachios evenly over the phyllo. 5. Add two more phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter. 6. Sprinkle the remaining pistachios over the top. 7. Cover with the last two phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter. 8. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the baklava into small diamond shapes. 9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crisp. 10. While baking, combine honey, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, lemon juice, and water in a small saucepan. 11. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. 12. Remove baklava from oven and immediately pour the hot honey syrup evenly over it. 13. Allow to cool completely and absorb the syrup before serving.
